GMA Pinoy TV is a 24-hour international channel designed for all Filipinos overseas. The channel shows top-rating GMA programs that have made GMA Network Number One in Mega Manila ratings (AGB and Nielsen, starting 2004). GMA Pinoy TV’s programs are not just innovative, creative, and pioneering but award-winning as well, both locally and internationally. The channel is seen both on cable and satellite, depending on the carrier in the territory.

3. How many channels are available?

GMA is currently offering one channel for overseas Filipinos and this is GMA Pinoy TV, targeted for the whole family.

4. What countries will GMA soon launch in and what is the timing?

By the end of 2007, GMA Pinoy TV will be in Canada. It will be in the United Kingdom, Italy and Australia in 2008.

1. Which cable and/or satellite operators carry GMA?

In the U.S., GMA Pinoy TV is available on DirecTV; Comcast Bay Area, Fresno, Sacramento, Antioch and Pittsburgh; Time Warner LA and Hawaii; Cox San Diego and Las Vegas; Wave Broadband Cerritos; San Bruno Cable; AT&T Uverse; Chula Vista Cable and National City Cable. In the Middle East it is available on Orbit. In Japan, it can be seen on IPS’s Access TV, Mediatti and Americable. Marianas Cable Vision carries the channel in Guam and Saipan. In Papua New Guinea, the channel is available on Channel 9 Ltd. GMA Pinoy TV is also seen in Diego Garcia via Cable and Wireless.

Programming

1. Will all programs that are being shown in the Philippines be aired internationally?

Most of the highly-popular, top-rating locally-produced programs of GMA Network will be shown in GMA Pinoy TV. At the moment, we are not showing foreign-produced programs such as anime cartoons and Korean telenovelas.

2. Will the news be up-to-date or will it be delayed?

In Programming we continue to move towards shorter turnaround times for airing of Ch. 7-Manila programs on GMA Pinoy TV.

Two News and Public Affairs shows (24 Oras and Saksi) are now airing on Pinoy TV within a few minutes of their airing on UHF.

Likewise we have moved to same-day airing for 5 variety and talk shows (SIS, Showbiz Central, Startalk, Eat Bulaga, SOP).

3. Will GMA be showing old programs?

Yes, GMA has plenty of programs that were hits in the Philippines but which our overseas kababayans missed or would want to see again.
