Jackie Rice leads ‘Dear Friend’s’ biggest season-ender episode

The four-part episode shows the fate of a number of women in today's society. Jackie gives life to Ella/Shiva’s character, a college student forced to work in a risky and dangerous business as a club dancer to support her studies.

Ella is a typical hardworking student who excels in academics, and has a good reputation in school. She would do anything just to get a college degree which compelled her to lead a double life.

Unknown to many, Ella works as a dancer at night to make ends meet for her family and support her studies. Despite this dirty job, she tries to remain respectable and keeps a distance from her customers.

Many guys in school are struck by Ella’s beauty. One of them is Adrian, a pre-med student, who comes from a well-off family.

He expresses his love for Ella, but she refuses since she has set her eyes on her priorities. He doesn’t stop pursuing her and, eventually, Ella is smitten with Adrian’s charm and overwhelmed by his resolve to win her heart.

Just when things seem to be going smoothly for the couple, she discovers that Adrian’s dad is one of her regular customers. Ella’s secret life is revealed to everyone and Adrian, devastated upon learning the truth, dumps her.

How will Ella handle the pressure of being reviled by the man she loves? Can Ella find inner peace and freedom from any form of discrimination from the people around her? Will this revelation lead to self-acceptance and self-appreciation?

Dear Friend’s season-ender episode is led by Director Jun Lana together with a pool of seasoned scriptwriters headed by Denoy Navarro-Punio. Rounding up the cast are Joross Gamboa, Chynna Ortaleza, Ryza Cenon, Jade Lopez, Sheree, Jay Perillo, Mariz Ricketts, and Rex Cortez.
