Wednesday, August 13, 2008

Katrina Halili is again given the prestige of starting GMA-7’s newest offering for its loyal viewers: OBRA. A weekly primetime drama anthology, OBRA sets out to challenge the network’s biggest and brightest stars with unconventional roles for four episodes each.

“Definitely we are very proud of this new project of GMA," Lilybeth Rasonable, Assistant Vice President for Drama, beams. “We have chosen one of our top actresses na talagang mino-mold namin para maging magaling at mahusay, we gave her the best directors here in the country—[so] I’m sure these [episodes] will be great masterpieces from these great directors, featuring a very treasured star of GMA."

Ms. Rasonable also congratulates the team of Program Unit Manager Redgie Magno for the project, which she knows will be successful. “Iba’t-ibang mga Kapuso stars ang ifi-feature namin every month. At ang una naming handog ay si Katrina Halili."

On her turn to speak, Katrina says she wants to thank GMA-7 for giving her another chance to shine: “Gusto ko pong magpasalamat sa GMA-7 sa tiwalang binigay nila sa akin."

“Panibagong challenge for me, at saka maraming salamat sa GMA-7 at ako yung pinagkatiwalaan nila na magpilot ng Obra,” Katrina says about being given the lead role in this drama. An added bonus for Katrina is having Robin Padilla as his leading man, a wish come true for this talented actress.

Katrina reveals that she wants the heavy scenes, and the more challenging, the better: “Para mas nag-i-improve po ako, para mailabas ko ang aking talento.

Katrina will play as protagonist on four different drama episodes, each to be directed by Joel Lamangan, Maryo J. Delos Reyes, Jun Lana and Bibeth Orteza.
